ACLS Instructor Course

Total Cost to become an AHA ACLS Instructor:

1. Online Instructor Essentials: $43.90 PLUS

2. Instructor course on campus: $450.00 PLUS

3. Equipment requirements for teaching classes, such as manikins, represent a significant investment. A comprehensive list of the required equipment can be found at the end of this page. The course videos and Instructor Manual are included in the course tuition as electronic versions. However, if you prefer DVD or USB videos and/or a physical instructor manual, those will incur additional costs for the instructor candidate.

4. Certification cards for your students: $12.00 each PLUS Student manual: $50.95 each

These steps outline the flow of the Instructor Candidate through the Instructor Training Requirements and the Instructor Course process:

The AHA ACLS Provider Certification begins with the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course, designed for individuals with a healthcare background who wish to instruct the ACLS Provider program. Please note that this registration is for Tuition Only! The ACLS Instructor Candidate must purchase their Online ACLS Essentials Course and Instructor Materials as outlined above.

1. Have a current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Provider Certification. 2. Be at least 18 years old. 3. Have experience working in a healthcare environment with proof of licensure. 4. Be prepared to complete and pass the ACLS Skills check-off. 5. Be ready to complete and pass the ACLS Instructor Written Exam. 6. Obtain the required equipment to teach the course (Manikins, AED Trainer, etc.), as outlined in the list below.  

**** Those who do not successfully pass both the ACLS Skills and Written exams will not be allowed to continue and must reschedule for the next ACLS Instructor Course. Ensure you come to class prepared to meet the ACLS Instructor Training Requirements!

Bring with you the following items to meet the AHA ACLS Provider Certification requirements and ensure compliance with the Instructor Training Requirements:

2. ACLS Instructor Essentials 2025 Online Course Completion Certificate

3. ACLS Instructor Manual in Print or eBook Format

4. Copy of Professional Healthcare License

5. An electronic device to access online modules (Laptop)

Following successful completion of the AHA ACLS Provider Certification and the ACLS Instructor Essentials Course (both Online and Classroom portions), the candidate must be monitored by a Training Center Faculty member while teaching their first course within 6 months of completing the Instructor Training Requirements. This will complete the applicant instructor process. Applicants may teach a course on our campus.

Classroom rental with equipment such as manikins and AED trainers is available daily at our Birmingham or Tuscaloosa locations for standard flat rates, perfect for those preparing for AHA ACLS Provider Certification or fulfilling Instructor Training Requirements.
