PALS Instructor Tuition: $400
Total Cost to become an AHA PALS Instructor:
1. Online Instructor Essentials $41.50 PLUS
2. Instructor course on campus $400.00 PLUS
3. Equipment to teach classes such as manikins: Varies and the cost is the Instructor candidates. The course videos and Instructor Manual are included in the course tuition.
These steps outline the flow of the Instructor Candidate through the Instructor Course process:
The PALS Instructor Essentials Course is designed for Individuals who work and/or have a background in the Healthcare Setting and wish to instruct the PALS Provider program. This registration is for Tuition Only! The PALS Instructor Candidate Must Purchase their Online PALS Essentials Course and Instructor Materials as outlined below.
1. Instructor Course Prerequisites:
1. Have a Current PALS Provider Certification
2. Be at least 18 years old
3. Experience working in the Healthcare Environment with proof of licensure
4. Be prepared to complete and pass the PALS Skills check-off
5. Be prepared to complete and pass the PALS Instructor Written Exam
**** Those who do not successfully pass the PALS Skills & Written exam will not be allowed to continue and must reschedule for the next PALS Instructor Course. Come to class prepared to do this!
2. Complete PALS Instructor Essentials 2020 Online ($41.20):
Complete the PALS Instructor Essentials 2020 online portion of the instructor training prior to attending the on campus Instructor course ($41.20) and bring the completion certificate with you to class:

4. Attend the PALS Instructor Course on Campus:

3. PALS Instructor Manual in Print or eBook Format
4. Copy of Professional Healthcare License
5. Electronic device to access online modules
5. Be Monitored Teaching 1 PALS Provider Course:
Following successful completion of the PALS Instructor Essentials Course (both Online and Classroom portions) The candidate also must be monitored by a Training Center Faculty member, teaching their first course within 6 months of the Instructor Essentials Course completion date. This will complete the applicant instructor process. Applicants may teach a course on our campus for a currently registered student.
6. Classroom and Equipment Rental Options:
Classroom with equipment (Manikins, AED Trainers, etc.) rental are available daily for standard flat rates at either the Birmingham or Tuscaloosa locations:
